An oil painting on canvas of a seascape by well-listed artist, Lionel Walden (American, 1861–1933). Walden, whose works are displayed at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, France and the Honolulu Museum of Art, is known for his seascape paintings. This work, rendered in a palette of dark blue tones, depicts sailboats sailing under the moonlight. It is signed by hand in red paint to lower left margin. This painting is presented without glass in an ornate gold tone wood and resin frame with a hanging wire to the verso.

- red mark to the center of painting; crazing to the upper left and lower right; shallow dent with paint loss to the upper left; area of paint loss to the sail of boat in the center of painting; abrasions along edges from frame rubbing against painting; wear throughout frame; several cracks to resin of frame; canvas held with tape to verso; staining and water damage to the verso; loose frame joints.
