An oil painting on canvas titled In Passy, Paris by listed American artist William Benecke (1934-2001). The work features a street scene that takes place in the wealthy Parisian area, Passy. Depicted is a brick pathway sorrounded by various flowers, leading to the facade of a blue roofed house. Signed by the artist to the lower right. A pair of W.T. Burger informational labels are present to the verso. Presented without glass, housed in a gilt and gesso frame.

William Benecke was born in 1934 in Chicago, Illinois and received his formal art training at the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked as an illustrator for several major studios in Chicago and also worked as a staff illustrator for the Chicago Tribune and the Sun Times. At age 24, he emigrated to Mexico for ten years, during which time he painted and ran his own gallery. He is known for his landscapes, garden scenes and portraits.
