A statuette by G. Ruggeri after the Renaissance sculpture Bacchus by Michelangelo. This figure depicts Bacchus, the Greek god of wine, wearing a wreath of grape bunches and ivy leaves on his head while standing in contrapposto with a goblet of wine in his raised right hand. Behind Bacchus stands a faun eating grapes. The sculpture is composed of an off-white resin and is signed ‘G. Ruggeri’ to the base. It rests on a black pedestal. The underside of the base is marked ‘Made in Italy’.
