An oil painting on canvas titled Charleston walk by listed American artist William Benecke (1934 – 2001). Signed by hand to the lower left. A pair of W.T. Burger informational and biographical labels are present to the verso. Presented without glass, housed in a gesso and gilt frame.

William Benecke was born in 1934 in Chicago, Illinois and received his formal art training at the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked as an illustrator for several major studios in Chicago and also worked as a staff illustrator for the Chicago Tribune and the Sun Times. At age 24, he emigrated to Mexico for ten years, during which time he painted and ran his own gallery. He is known for his landscapes, garden scenes and portraits.
