Hand-Colored Lithograph "The Room in the McLean House"

A hand-colored lithograph captioned ‘The Room in the McLean House, at Appomattox C.H., in which Gen. Lee surrendered to Gen. Grant.’ An inscription below the image reads, ‘Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1867, by Wilmer McLean, in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Virginia.’ The print is presented under glass and double matted; set in a wooden frame.
Condition
- Fair; chips and dents around the frame; glass could benefit from cleaning; drill holes on all four sides of frame; no wire hanging on the verso.
