George Herbert Baker Original Oil on Board Winter Landscape
Item Details
An original oil paintign on panel by well-listed American Impressionist landscape painter George Herbert Baker (Indiana, 1878 – 1943). The painting depicts a river cutting through a picturesque winter landscape. Snow covers the hilly banks, and tall leafless tress stand tall above the water. The entire scene is coated in soft pale lavender light. The painting is signed faintly to the lower left. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, seamless corners, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire. A note attached to the verso explains that a ‘Hoosier Salon Exhibition Label’ used to be present there. More information about the artist can be found below under Additional Information.
