Signed Hand-Knotted Kashan Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A signed. hand-knotted wool room-sized area rug attributed to the Kashan region in Iran. There is a round central medallion with pendants against a red lozenge field with overall foliage and pendants along with blue spandrels in the corners. Enclosing the field is a blue main border with alternating florettes and two pairs of guard borders. The off-white carnation guard border has a cartouche to one end showcasing a knotted signature in Arabic. To the verso, there is an affixed label.
