An oil, gouache, and ink painting on paper titled Haiti by Haitian artist Luckner Lazard (1928-1999). This piece depicts three figures wearing orange dresses and performing tasks of food preparation, their skin and tools in black silhouette. They are on a ground of a painted texture suggestive of a woven structure. It is signed and dated ‘54’ to the lower right corner. This piece is presented mounted on a gold tone backing, behind glass, and in a hand-detailed wood frame that is wired for hanging.

Condition

- some wear to frame; tears in paper tape to verso.
