Vintage R. Blackinton & Co. Sterling Silver Compact Purse
Item Details
A vintage sterling silver compact purse by R. Blackinton & Co, originally founded in 1862. This hinged compact features a sterling case which opens to reveal a mirror and two makeup compartments. The interior of the powder compartment is hallmarked ‘Sterling 300’ with an R, a line through the letters IB, and Co. for R. Blackinton & Co., and each compartment is marked ‘56’. A short chain strap is attached and the front features an engraved monogram.
