Antique Chinese Forbidden Stitch Embroidery Silk Panel

Item Details

An antique Chinese forbidden stitch embroidery silk panel. The panel has a center section of peach colored silk, surrounded by a dark gray damask. The center section is embroidered using a variety of unique stitches in shades of white, plum, orange, sage, and blue. The embroidery forms a depiction of flowering vines, birds, and fruit spilling forth from a shallow bowl. The panel is presented behind glass with simple black frame. Wire on verso.
