Hand-Knotted Persian Qom Pure Silk Rug

A hand-knotted Persian Qom pure silk rug. The rug is constructed with a knotted silk pile with approximately 440 knots per square inch over a complete silk weft. The rug displays a peacock roundel medallion centered on an oval field. Rounded spandrels stand at the corners of the field. A wide principal order with repeating flower vase and vine patterns surrounds the field. The colors of cream, pink, brown, and blue dominate the rug; as well as, dense floral and foliate depictions. The rug is finished with silk warp fringe. The rug is unmarked.
