Lady Bird Signed Limited Edition Offset Lithograph on Paper "Stompin at the Savoy"

A signed limited edition offset lithograph on paper titled Stompin at the Savoy by celebrated American artist Lady Bird (1926-2015). This work features a genre scene of people wildly dancing at dance hall. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right; it is titled to the lower center, and numbered 189 out of an edition of 350 to the lower left. Printed credits to the lower left indicate that the work was ‘Published by Heritage Fine Arts Gallery’. It is not matted and remains unframed.

Born in Georgia, Lady Bird (Strickland) moved to Harlem at age 13. She attended Pratt Institute and later become known for her paintings of African-American genre scenes and works that feature African-American icons such as Josephine Baker and Duke Ellington. Some of her later paintings feature Barack Obama’s election as President.
