An original antique oil painting on canvas board of a wooded scene by an anonymous artist. This Tonalist painting depicts a central dirt road that cuts through a wooden forest, filled with large, barren trees and various brush to the edges. This unsigned work is presented in a gold tone wooden frame featuring moulded groove patterning to the surface and hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- painting would benefit from cleaning; the canvas has lifted from the board causing an uneven surface; raised areas have paint loss; frame has surface wear consistent with age; frame has scuffs, scratches, dents and loss of gilt.
