19th-Century Japanese Arita Porcelain Octogonal Bowl

Item Details

An antique Japanese Arita porcelain eight-sided bowl. It features an overall hand painted blue design with a floral central medallion with panels with cloud-like designs and flowers. To the underside, there is a four-character mark similar to a Chinese Chenghua mark. Circa 1800s.

Condition

- to the underside a pervious owner wrote in marker “Edo Period 1780-1820 Large Imari Bowl Unusual Octagon Shpe [sic] #920”
- gold mark to the edge; might be an appear
