An original signed gouache painting by very well-listed American western genre painter John Paul Strain (Texas, born 1955), titled Thru the Pass – Evening. The painting depicts two Native Americans on horseback making their way through a mountain pass piled high with snow. The painting is created with remarkable attention to detail and accuracy. It is signed to the lower left, and is signed and titled in ink to the verso of the frame’s backing. The painting is matted in beige with several hand-drawn French lines and a gold tone filet and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
