Tiara Exclusives Black Amethyst Glass Circa 1970
Item Details
A ten piece assortment of black amethyst glass by Tiara Exclusives . The body was first produced in the depression era. The otherwise black appearing glass holds a secret when exposed to a light, a deep purple hue is revealed. The scarce examples were revived in the 1970’s by Tiara Exclusives an Indiana glass works selling via the home party method. The collection is composed of a pitcher, compote, salt and pepper shakers, a covered butter dish and six bowls of various sizes. The pattern has diamonds in relief after antique pressed glass sawtooth examples. Please see 320 and 304 for additional pieces of this type.
