Tiara Exclusives Black Amethyst Glass C.1970's
Item Details
A ten piece assortment of black amethyst glass by Tiara Exclusives . The body was first produced in the depression era. The otherwise black appearing glass holds a secret when exposed to a light, a deep purple hue is revealed. The scarce examples were revived in the 1970’s by Tiara Exclusives an Indiana glass works selling via the home party method. The collection is composed of a footed compote, covered boxes, a jar, two small jardinieres and four plates in various sizes. The patterns were inspired by depression glass standards including grapes, lattice rims and beehives. Please see 323 and 304 for additional pieces of this type.
