Pembroke Fetridge (New York: Harper & Brothers, 1865), A Brief History of France (New York: A. S. Barnes & Co., c. 1877), the World War I handbook War Frenchby Cornelius De Witt Willcox (New York: Macmillan, 1918), and the guidebook Paris-Commode Indicateur des Rues: Autobus, Tramways, Métropolitain, Itinéraires, Arrêts & Sections: Monuments et Etablissements Publics: Renseignements: Plan de Paris et de la Banlieue (Paris: L. Joly, editeur: c. 1925), which includes a fold-out map. Also included is the third volume of Message from the President of the United States, to the Houses of Congress at the Commencement of the First Session of the Thirty-Fifth Congress (Washington: 1857)—i.e., the 1858 State of the Union address and related documents. Harper’s Hand-Book is bound in leather, Paris-Commune in one-quarter cloth and the remainder in full cloth-covered boards.

- heavy wear to Harper’s Hand-Book including water damage, marks and scratches, deterioration of leather and cracked exterior front hinge; Paris-Commode has detached spine, heavy wear to boards, some loose and torn pages; Brief History of France has bowing; general wear throughout including edge and corner wear, fading to cloth, page discoloration, foxing and inscriptions.
