A hand-carved wood sculpture from Africa. This mask-like piece depicts a stylized face on a mostly flat plane made of wood, which has been stained black and chestnut, the plane connected to a branched support/handle. The piece is mounted on a pedestal, which is stained a cherry color and black, with abstract carved patterning along its sides. A tag attached to the back reads, in part, ‘Hand Crafted in Africa.’
