Needlepoint Embroideries of Landscapes with Houses
Item Details
A selection of four needlepoint embroideries. The first two embroideries are stitched on fabrics with the design printed on the ground fabric. They depict country landscapes, one of a house on the bank of a river, and the other of a snow-covered winter cottage. The other two pieces are a set of two depicting European countrysides; one piece has a castle in the distance, and the other a stone cottage in the foreground. Both of these are marked ‘Mrs. Bernstein’ to the verso. All four pieces are presented behind glass in gold tone frames with hanging hardware.
Condition
- slight wear to all four frames; discoloration and stains to all four versos; toning to smaller pieces; pieces stretched unevenly in frames..
