Hand-Colored Engraving After Carel van Falens' "Rendez-Vous de Chasse"

A hand colored engraving on paper after a 1736 engraving by Jean Moyreau (1690-1762) from a painting by Carel van Falens (Flemish, 1683-1733), currently in the permanent collection of the Musée du Louvre. Titled Rendez-vous de Chasse, this depicts a group of hunters resting before a country cottage. It is titled below with a description on how the original was used as Moyreau’s diploma work for his acceptance for l’Accademie Royale. This work is presented under glass in a wooden frame with a velvet fillet, that is wired for hanging.
Condition
- minor scratches to frame; velvet fillet is stained from age; foxing to paper.
