An oil painting on panel, titled Pirate’s Alley, by listed artist George Grunblatt (1923 – 2008). This Impressionist painting depicts the titular New Orleans street lined with stacked storefronts in a French Creole style. The composition is rendered in a pastel and earthen color palette, which is rounded to the corners as dry-brushed leaves spill from the edges.To the lower left corner of the composition is an artist signature and illegible date. The painting is presented in a gold tone and silver wooden frame featuring a linen liner. To the verso is an affixed sawtooth bracket for hanging, as well as a handwritten title to the lower leg.
