J. Lubbers Original Oil Portrait on Canvas
Item Details
A vintage original oil painting on canvas of a 17th-century French musketeer toasting a goblet of wine, signed to the lower left ‘J. Lubbers’. The signature, under ultraviolet examination, appears to have been added well after the painting was completed. This work is mounted in a carved wood frame with a natural stained and black finish, equipped to hang. A card is attached to the verso with a biography about J. Lubbers.
Condition
- notable accretion and craquelure across painting, especially to the bottom edge. Signature was signed to the painting well after the painting was completed.
