English Crown Ducal "Gainsborough" Pattern China Service

An English Crown Ducal Gainsborough china dinnerware service. The pattern features high relief embossed floral banding under a cream translucent glaze, having multi-color floral borders at rim and floral sprays to the center with hand-painted enamel accents. The eighty-six piece set includes twelve tea cups and saucers, fourteen small dessert plates, five 10’ dinner plates, eleven 9’ plates, eight 8’ plates, six 6.5’ bowls, and eight 5.5’ bowls. Also includes two rectangular serving platters, a rectangular vegetable dish, two square serving plates, a gravy boat, covered sugar and creamer, pitcher and waste bowl. Marked ‘Made in England Rd No 749657’ to the base. Circa late 1920s-1930s.
