An original, untitled 1953 watercolor and ink on linen by Don Werner (1929-2010). The piece depicts amorphous forms in a palette of earth tones and black ink. It is signed and dated in graphite to the lower left margin. Presented matted in a wooden frame with hanging wire and a note affixed to verso.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
