1673, "Juvenal and Persius" by Barton Holyday

A 1673 copy of Juvenal and Persius, by Barton Holyday, printed in Oxford, posthumously. This book has leather covers with leather label on the spine which reads ’Holyday’s Juvenal’, and a bookplate with a fox and bird crest. It has one engraved map that folds out, three engraved plates with one that folds out, and forty-seven smaller engravings and woodcuts throughout the 341 pages. The full description on the title page reads, _Decimus Junius Juvenalis, and Aulus Perfius Flaccus Translated and Illustrated as well with Sculpture as Notes’ by Barton Holyday, D.D. and late Arch-Deacon of Oxon.

- Front cover board and title page detached.
- Cracked leather spine.
- Edgewear and redrot to leather cover.
- Stains to some of the pages.
