A pair of offset lithographs after engravings after paintings by Marie Sybille Merian from the 1726 book Life Cycle of the Insects of Surinam. Each print illustrates the stages in the life cycle of a particular insect with its natural food. Each is mounted under glass with gold tone and off-white layered mats in gilt wood frames that strung with cord for hanging. A Certificate of Authenticity with information about the artist is attached to the back of each frame.

Condition

- blemishes on paper are all reproduced from the originals; a few minor marks to frames; one print has shifted down under the mat.
