A hand-knotted Chinese Chen Chu area rug. The rug features a central medallion in shades of green, blue, and orange on a taupe field. The field is populated by floral medallions and Chinese guls in a matching palette and is enclosed by a compound border. The guard border features key pattern throughout in deep blue with a floral and scrolled pattern along the primary border. The rug has an overcast edge, a short Kilim skirt and a wool fringe at either end.
