Antique Coal Miner's Canary Bird Cages
Item Details
A pair of antique coal miner’s canary bird cages. These primitive wooden and metal bird cages, are square in shape and offer the original ceramic feeding vessel. These canary cages were taken in the tunnels with the miners as a warning for life threatening gas leaks, as the birds would die first, letting the miners to make a fast escape. These interesting pieces go with out any markings.
Condition
- Condition is consistent with age and use, showing slight damage, debris, and would benefit from a cleaning.
