A 1953 coastal watercolor painting by Don Werner (American, 1929-2010). This piece depicts boats along the water’s edge and is hand signed to the lower left. The piece is housed in a mat under glass with a wood frame and a mounting wire to the verso.
Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
