An original large East Asian style watercolor painting on laid paper of a lotus flower. This painting depicts a central composition of the aforementioned flowers in various states of blooming. They are rendered with thin, gestural brush strokes of red pigment, which are accented with faint black, salmon and pale green tones applied in thick pools, thin strokes or spattering. To the top left and lower right corners of the composition are vertical arrangements of Asian characters, as well as red artist seals. The painting is presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a bronze and black wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
