A Chinese calligraphy hanging scroll. The original work features Chinese calligraphy in black ink on rice paper, with red seals to the lower left and top right. The piece is mounted to a cream paper scroll with wooden handles to the lower end. It includes a decorative hanging string to the top and a label with Chinese writing to the verso.
Condition
- water damage to top and bottom ends of scroll; large rip to lower right above wooden handle; some small holes present to scroll toward the outer margins; foxing, toning and creasing present throughout, with some scattered stains and markings, most noticeably toward the top and bottom; wear to wooden handles, with chipping to right side.
