International Silver Co. "Stratford" Sterling Silver Flatware Set for Twelve
Item Details
A 1909 sterling silver flatware set for twelve by the International Silver Co. In the John T. Clulee designed Stratford pattern, the set features ornate rose blossom embellished handles. This includes twelve dinner knives and twelve blunt regular knives with silver plate blades and sterling hollow handles, and a carving knife, fork and sharpening steel set with stainless steel blades and sterling hollow handles. The lot also includes twelve butter spreaders, a master butter knife, fifteen teaspoon, twelve salt spoons, a place spoon, pickle fork, a berry spoon, and a ladle. There are also fourteen salad forks, twelve cocktail forks, twelve regular forks, and twelve dinner forks. They are presented with twelve bouillon soup spoons by the Gorham Manufacturing Company in the Lancaster Rose pattern, a Violet teaspoon by R. Wallace & Sons, and a teaspoon by Towle Silversmiths in the Old English pattern. The set housed within a green velvet lined mahogany stained chest with a brass plaque on top that reads ‘presented by International Silver Company Oct 26th 1909’. The total approximate weight, excluding the knives and carving set with stainless steel blades, is 107.345 ozt.
