Bud Burwinkle Abstract Painting
Item Details
An oil painting on linen by Louisville painter Bud Burwinkle. This piece has a central area in which glue has been applied in drips and sharp strokes to create a raised texture ever which the artist has painted. An overall screen of tan-colored paint is broken by a stripe of ochre and yellow in the middle, and the peaks and valleys of the glue’s texture are pierced with sharp yellows, black, and bright reds. The piece is signed to the lower right corner if hung horizontally, and dated ‘’74’. It is presented in a wood frame that is wired to the verso for hanging both horizontally and vertically.

- buckling of canvas; wear to frame and gaps to joins; chip of paint loss to upper left corner.
