Three Hermann Struck Etchings on Paper Impressionistic Marine Scenes

A collection of three early 20th-century Orientalism etchings on paper by listed German artist Hermann Struck (1876-1944). Depicted are three varied size etchings with impressionistic marine scenes all featuring gondolas with architectural landscapes in the background. One appears with sheet music to both sides. All are signed in graphite to the lower left and remain unmounted and unframed.

Hermann Struck was born in Berlin, Germany in 1876. He studied at the Berlin Academy under German portrait painter Max Koner (1854-1900). Struck quickly took to his preferred method of expression, the art of etching. He joined the Zionist when he was traveling in the early years of 1900, meeting Zionist leader Theodor Herzl Herzl (1860-1904). After WWI, Struck settled in Haifa, Palestine in 1923 where he began to depict Middle Eastern scenes with Jews and Arabs, a popular subject matter for struck.
