An original oil painting on canvas titled Guitar on Table by listed American painter, Edgar Yaeger (1904 – 1997). The painting depicts a Cubist still life featuring a green apple, pitcher and guitar. It is not signed but marked with the artist attribution on a Cincinnati Art Galleries label. This piece is presented in a decorative gold tone frame with composite applique floral embellishments.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
