A hand-knotted Persian Heriz area rug. This wool rug features a large eight pointed medallion in a central lozenge on a cream field with corner spandrels. The primary border offers a samovar border flanked by meandering carnation guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. A tag marked ‘Hand Woven In Iran’ is attached to the reverse.
