A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan area rug. This wool rug features a floral medallion with pendants on a field of dense puling vines and coalescing flowers with corner spandrels in a palette of lilac, powder blue, midnight blue, burgundy, dusty rose, sage green, tan, yellow, and cream. The primary border offers large meandering floral patterns flanked by overlapping guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges, a narrow kilim skirt at each end, and a knotted fine wool warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
