An oil painting on board by well-listed American landscape artist John Franklin Stacey (1859-1941). The landscape work depicts a bucolic rural setting at sunrise, with pink and yellow morning light breaking over a farmer crossing a stream with his cows. The piece is signed ‘John F. Stacey, Paris’ in deep red paint to the lower right. It is unframed, but mounted to a backing with hanging wire affixed to the verso.
