Chinese Embroidery on Silk of Birds and Roses
Item Details
A Chinese embroidered work on silk. The piece depicts two birds roosting near a colorful bush of pink, red and purple roses. The work is signed in embroidered calligraphy to the upper right. It is presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with painted bamboo-motif details to the front and hanging wire to the verso. A Ferdinand Roten Galleries sticker is affixed to the backing paper.
Condition
- some toning and foxing to fabric; minor wear to frame finish; frame glass would benefit from cleaning; small holes and scuffs to backing paper.
