A hand knotted Kurdish wool pictorial rug. This wool area rug features a black colored field patterned with large vasiform shapes, animal forms, zig zag lines of lobed flowers, triangular amulets, and stylized leaves in shades of peach, crimson, emerald green, tan, and white. The main border features cruciform shapes on emerald green, crimson red, black and brown tiles. It is not marked and features natural warp fringe to either end.
