An original gouache painting on paper by listed American illustrator Paul Nonnast (Pennsylvania; born 1918), signed in paint by the artist to the lower left. This illustrative piece depicts a wild ride in the country, as two men in a vintage automobile drive away from a farm. The driver is calm and happy, and he smokes a pipe as he runs the car through a group of chickens, causing feathers to fly. His companion is low in the seat and green with carsickness as they bounce over the top of a hill. It is presented behind a mat and glass in a metal frame that is wired for hanging.
Condition
- image has a noticeable scratch at the upper left side; there is paint on the mat at the bottom; some dirt under glass; some scuffs to frame.
