East Asian Painted Hanging Scroll With Figures Gathered by a River
Item Details
An East Asian ink and paint illustration on paper, mounted to a fabric scroll. The piece depicts a group of three male figures gathered on one side of a river and reading a scroll held up by an elderly woman on the other side. The work is signed in black calligraphy and a red seal to the lower left. It is mounted to tan patterned fabric and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
