An oil painting on canvas, titled Studying the Talmud. This painting depicts a group of rabbis gathered in prayer, as a hooded figure reads from the titular book of scriptures. The scene is rendered primarily with earthen tones that are applied in a gestural manner, with thin linework seen beneath the layering. To the lower right corner of the composition is a painted title and illegible artist signature, as well as a date (1983). The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame featuring a linen liner and hanging wire to the verso.

- frame has a deep gouge in the wood to the center right; linen liner discolored with spotting; painted residue to frame verso.
