An oil painting on Masonite titled Still Life in Blue and Orange by well-listed American artist (Wilfred) Easton Pribble (1917-2003). Portrayed in a Post-Impressionist and Cubist style with flattened fragmented forms and dark outlines, this work features a still life of vases set on a table, one filled with flowers. The painting is signed ‘Pribble’ to the lower left. Present to the verso are a few descriptive labels, one from the Whitney Museum of American Art and another from Kraushaar Galleries. The work is presented in a beveled gray-blue wood frame with linen liner.

Born in Kentucky, (Wilfred) Easton Pribble spent his childhood in Indiana and studied at the University of Cincinnati, School of Applied Arts. He was known for his abstract works and took influence from early 20th-century Modernists such as Paul Cézanne and Henri Matisse. His work has been collected by renowned art institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, among others.

- large areas of paint flaking and loss scattered throughout, especially concentrated in central and lower right area; craquelure throughout painting; stains throughout linen liner; stains, scratches, and small chips throughout frame.
