An oil painting on canvas of a village by Haitian artist Aida Dostaly. This painting draws inspiration from Primitivism, depicting an aerial view of silhouetted figures carrying baskets of produce and picking flowers from the expansive field. Placed sparingly throughout the composition are lodges, as well as thin trees. To the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature and date, listed 1944. The painting is contained in a natural wooden frame that has been gouged with groove and ribbed patterning, and is painted at the inner border with cream. To the verso is an affixed fish eye loop for hanging.
