Item Details
In Plate
A restrike etching titled El Cid after Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), published by the Collectors Guild. This piece, from Dalí’s ‘Spanish Immortals’ series, depicts the medieval military leader and figure of legend, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, better known as El Cid. This etching sees him sitting proudly atop his horse and carrying a flag towards battle. His body is rendered in stacked lines, creating a ghostly image on the more fully-outlined horse. It is signed in plate to the upper left corner. A certificate of authenticity is affixed to the verso, as well as hanging instructions for the piece. It is presented behind a mat and glass in a thin metal frame.
