Item Details
A pair of oil paintings on wooden board of market scenes, by Haitian artist Félix Jean (ca. 1929-1979). These painterly pieces use saturated colors with thick black lines to render clusters of figures carrying bunches of fruit and trays of wares. Each piece is signed by the artist in black paint toward the center of the upper edges, and are presented in wide wooden frames without glass or hanging hardware.
Condition
- scuffing and wear to frames; some light markings to painting surfaces; staples to versos; dusty throughout.
