A Reproduction Plaster Cast with Bronze Finish Bust of Albert Schweitzer by Leo Cherne (September 8, 1912 – January 12, 1999). This sculpture work depicts the aged face, head, and neck of the Physician, Humanitarian, and Philosopher Albert Schweitzer.
The piece is signed by the artist in mold at the bottom right portion of the neck verso. The subject’s name is inscribed on the front face of the plaster base.
Leo Cherne was a Lawyer, Economist, and Humanitarian who lead the International Rescue Committee to aid in relief and resettlement of refugees.
Condition
- Finish chipped throughout bust; right earlobe chipped; base corners are chipped.
