Austrian Cold-Painted Metal Sculptural Lamp of Camel and Traveler
Item Details
A cold-painted metal sculptural lamp of a camel and traveler in the style of Franz Bergman (Austrian, 1861–1936). This freestanding work depicts a robed man clutching at the reigns of a camel staring sideways. They are affixed to a flattened base with a protruding pole molded to resemble a palm tree to the edge, complete with a lighting fixture and protruding elements at the top. To the underside is a stamped manufacturer inscription reading ‘Austria’.
Condition
- to fair; minor chips to paint on tree trunk and base; residue throughout surface; spattered residue to underside of base; power cord cut; leaves missing from top of lamp.
